There Is No Place That God Is Not

Souci’s account of the 1996 traumatic event that catapulted her into a heavenly Out-Of-Body experience. There, in God’s arms, she was healed from her deeply rooted pain, as she received God’s love. Then, after gaining some perspective, a renewed Souci was sent back to her body and life with an important realization that, there is no place that God is not.

The year was 1996. Souci had just left a Jazz Concert with her husband, Dave. Experiencing some on-going differences in their marriage, Souci was still trying to make it work. But, as an argument quickly escalated in the car, in minutes, things went from bad to worse. It became all too clear that the relationship was on the brink of complete failure, leaving Souci deeply distraught.

At the end of her wits and overwhelmed by the intense emotional pain in that moment, Souci wanted to die. But even more than that… she really wanted to show Dave just how wrong he was, and how much he was going to miss her when she was really gone for good. So, after she dropped Dave off at his parent’s home, she quickly spun around as she left. Overcome by emotional rage and with no thought for her life, Souci recklessly tore off into the night.

Suddenly, in a strange turn of events, Souci saw the Blazer she was driving below her on the freeway. She was out of body. Peacefully looking at the vehicle that she was supposed to be steering, she calmly wondered, “If I’m here, who is driving my Blazer?”

The next thing she knew, she was waking up in the morning with a man in her bed. He was an acquaintance from the Calvary Christian Church. Having totally lost memory of what physically happened after being above her car, and startled by the sight of this man, Souci wondered, “Did I sleep with him?” Then, concerned about what her son was going to think, she asked the man, “Why are you here?” “You were hysterical when you called me,” he said. “I was so concerned that you’d take your life, that I came over and held you all night long.”

Just then, Souci’s son, Adam, walked in. “Well, hi!” he said. Souci would later have to explain the awkward situation that stemmed from the nervous breakdown she endured.

Given the nature of the extreme emotional trauma that catapulted Souci out of body, although it’s not obvious, because there was no accident, it is very possible that this was a Near Death Experience, given her thoughts of death and her intention to die, as to “show” Dave what it would be like with her permanently gone from his life.

Souci's Ascension

Souci’s Ascension

On that fateful night when Souci rose above her Blazer, what she experienced was nothing short of profound. She ascended from this realm and was immersed in God’s bliss.

In the safety of God’s love and presence, she relived the traumatic events from earlier in the evening. But this time,  instead of focusing on feeling her own pain again, this time she felt Dave’s pain… and felt all the love and compassion for his wounded soul.

You see, the night of Souci’s emotional breakdown, Souci’s loving and caring God wiped her tears away and healed her wounds. She was shown a greater perspective that we sometimes miss when our world becomes so small and we forget our true nature. What nature? That we are great, infinite beings who are intensely loved by the heavens. As Souci communed with her God for a time, her spirit was nourished and restored. There is no doubt that Souci was taught and shown many things about her mission on Earth.

But then, just when it was getting really good, it was time for Souci to go back to her everyday earthly life. Although she didn’t want to leave her blissful heaven, she knew she would return to her life, transformed in many ways.

Indeed, her life was different, after her return. So different in fact, that the people in her life barely recognized her anymore. Souci, now, having completely lost her survival needs (ego construct), had complete and total love for Dave. The boundary between others and herself were now gone because she knew that all of us were really ONE, and we could never actually be separate. She saw herself in everyone, and everyone in herself, and all equally, with a deep knowing that, “There is no place that God is not.”

So threatened and uncomfortable, were the Egos of others by her new boundary-less way of being, people started separating themselves from her and pushing her away. This “equal love” became upsetting to family and friends, as being equally loved took all the ‘specialness’ out of the relationships, for these people, who were previously so exclusively loved by Souci.

Misunderstood and realizing her purely heavenly way of being was not sustainable, she began to let go of the Universal love that she realized in God’s presence. It took about two years for Souci to come back to the normal conditioning of the human experience, where she lived as a mere human for a while.

After much time of processing her phenomenal experience and looking for evidence on Earth again of that Universal love, it has taken several years for Souci to grow in spiritual maturity and wisdom. Today, Souci has found God in, among many things, the sanctuary of Kundalini Yoga, Kriya yoga (Yoga bliss), taught by her Guru Paramhansa Yogananda, and the wonder and innocence of her precious grandchildren, whose eyes shine with God’s goodness.

Quietly, this time, and knowing the truth of all she knows today, Souci infiltrates this planet with her Universal love and takes delight in what is so special, in what she experienced in God’s arms so completely that night… which is, despite appearances… God IS in us all.

One of Souci’s favorite quotes- “If you don’t see God in All, you don’t see God at All.” Something to think about.

Your story is so well marked in my own experience of grief and mourning, that it feels that the telling of it resonates deep within me. I have learned so much in my relationship with you as my sister as well as my spiritual counter part. We two are soul connected and will be forever!
