The Beautiful Unfolding of YOU!

A blooming rose

The Blossoming of you

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”
Anais Nin

Whatever you may encounter on your journey through life, face it with strength and courage.

It is often fear of the unknown that keeps us frozen and stuck in the safety of what we have already known. And ironically, being afraid to go forward, we run the risk of risking ourselves.

So, with eyes, arms, hearts and minds wide open, bravely risk unfolding to continually become the most beautiful blossom you were meant to be.

Stages of Grief

Grief is a normal response to a painful loss. Made up of many emotional states, the grief process is the inward journey we must take if we are to heal the pain associated with our loss.

Although this article is geared toward grief over the death of a loved one, the grief cycle is relevant for any loss. The grief process provides a natural way for us to recover from our loss and move forward.

Generally the grief cycle includes: shock and denial, bargaining, pain, anger, depression and finally, acceptance. However, depending on the individual and the circumstances involved, navigating this terrain can be much more complicated.

“The Guest House” by Rumi

A white guest house

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.. “Ask and you will be given.”

Dr. Kubler-Ross

Dr. Kubler-Ross

I’ve selected this story from Dr. Kübler-Ross because it is such an inspiring classic of a near-death experience. It illustrates an example of a man that had given up all hope. After losing his entire family all at once, this man was naturally devastated. The experience he was about to have would completely change his life forever.

If you are grieving and barely hanging on, read this story carefully. Sometimes, like the man in the story, we are called on to face great trials in our lives. But hang on, there’s often more to the picture than we can understand from our limited perpective.

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross … The Mysterious Case of Mrs. Schwarz

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

In her book, On Life After Death, Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, a Swiss-born psychiatrist, and one of the world’s leading authorities on death and dying, and renowned pioneer in the study of the near-death experience (NDE), states that her first account of an NDE came from “a certain Mrs. Schwarz” who was declared dead following 45 minutes of resuscitation attempts. Miraculously, Mrs. Schwarz was resuscitated back to life.

Mrs. Schwarz lived for another year-and-a-half, during which time she met Dr. Ross and related her near-death experience to a crowd during a seminar on death and dying at the University of Chicago.

After-Death Communication and Signs

The Apparition John Everett Millais

Spirit Visitation

After-Death Communication (ADC) is, as the name implies, a communication between the living and the deceased. Also, as indicated in the name, it implies that the deceased are not really dead, as we know it, but living somewhere in another realm without their physical body. And, truth be told, the deceased would probably say they were experiencing even more aliveness than when they were living in the physical world! At least, that’s what I’ve been told!

Near Death Experience

Ascent Of The Blessed by Hieronymus Bosch

Ascent Of The Blessed by Hieronymus Bosch

A near-death experience is a spiritual phenomenon that happens when the spirit leaves the physical body. A NDE falls under the umbrella of out-of-body experiences (OBE’s).

Upon separation from the body, a lighter version of us is whisked from the density of this world into the lightness of another… or at least it seems this way.

Usually, this is a good experience, where peace, acceptance and unconditional love rule supreme. It is common to experience the presence of a loving light. Some people see Jesus, or other powerful spiritual figures. Some people see angels. Some people have guides. For many, deceased relatives and friends are there to welcome them home. Experiences vary greatly, so not every NDE is exactly the same.

Waking from the Dream…

A Soul’s Perspective

(This poem came to a broken-hearted me, three months after Christian’s death. Showing me another perspective, it was a welcome gift of cheer, comfort and relief given to me from a higher aspect of myself)

I dreamed I was a body,
and you, a body too.
I dreamed bad things could happen,
both, to me and you.

I dreamed that there was sickness,
that death and loss were real.
I dreamed we could be separate,
Oh! … the pain that we could feel!

“I’m Just a Room Away”

A few nights ago as I was retiring to my bed, I thought of Christian. Now gone for almost two years, I asked him, “Where are you? Are you close by… or far, far away? Please come for a visit. We miss you so, so much!”
With this, I fell fast asleep.

The next morning I woke up remembering this dream….

There was a room where my life played out. In it, I lived, slept and did all the things of life.

Mantras… Tools for Empowerment

Mother Gayatri

Mother Gayatri

Throughout history, mantras have played an important role in bringing about states of peace, bliss and connection to the Divine. It is believed that mantras have power to elevate and transcend one from the lower frequencies of the human realm into the higher frequencies of a Godly realm. So, it’s no wonder that mantras of sound, prayer, meditation and song have become so popular. Time and experience has demonstrated this practice to be transformational.

Today, it is increasingly common for people to use mantras for the purpose of creating intentions and declaring affirmations into existence. Songs and sayings that empower and motivate have even been adopted as personal mantras. These are all great tools for raising one’s energetic frequency.

Love… The Path Home

My friend Jared posted a beautiful message on Facebook, so with permission, I share it with you.

He wrote, “While walking home tonight…. I noticed a small memorial for a homeless person …lost to the streets.

Then, I saw a man crying.  So I walked up and hugged him. He said he couldn’t remember the last time someone hugged him. So I hugged him some more … and he hugged me in return.
I told him that I loved him.  He told me he loved me too.
Smiling, we parted ways.

Kevin’s Journey into the Light

Last night as I was waiting to drift off to sleep, there Kevin was, smiling at me in my mind’s eye. Apparently, Kevin wants me to share his story with you, as he keeps pushing his way up into the forefront of my thoughts. So, I will tell it to you.

It must have been1986 when we met. He was a costumer in an Italian restaurant I worked at. I was a single mother of two small children when we became friends. Kevin was a kind and loving soul. Besides being a great guy, Kevin was a pilot too.

Once, in a small plane, Kevin took me up into the night sky above our city. It was a warm and clear night. The lights below and above were most beautiful!

After that, I would see him on occasion, but gradually, with me getting married and both of us moving around, we eventually lost contact.

EFT- Emotional Freedom Technique

I want to introduce you to… or remind you of… EFT. I post this technique as one of many assisting tools that can lead you along the path of personal freedom. I know it has helped me, so I share this with you too.

EFT was developed by Gary Craig. It was adapted from Though Field Therapy and is based on the theory that the cause of all negative emotion are rooted in disruptions to the body’s energy system. Therefore, EFT is used to neutralized and clear negative emotional patterns, thus, restoring balance. It is simple to understand, easy to use, and is found to be highly effective by many.

EFT involves using the Set Up, The Sequence and The Gamut.  You don’t have to understand the details about how it works for it to work on you. You just need to do it and see for yourself. To give you an idea of how well it works, it has been used with a high degree of effectiveness on people suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. If people with PTSD can find relief and recovery, than I figure…. it’s worth a try.
