In this after-death communication, Ken receives help from his departed loved one, Jon, while making a batch of cookies.
Ken writes:
I have been feeling Jon near me lately. Funny thing is, I was getting out ingredients from a cabinet to bake cookies. I kept digging around for the brown sugar. I couldn’t remember if I used it all or put it somewhere else, so I decided to bake another kind.
After mixing the dough, I heard something flutter behind me. As I turned around, the empty brown sugar bag was falling to the ground. But just for an instant, before it fell, it was like fluttering around like a bird, trying to get out. I said, “Thank you, Jon.”
Commentary- Even in those quiet moments when we are most in our heads, distracted with trying to figure something out, we see that our departed loved ones are aware of our thoughts. As with Ken, intently focused on finding a bag of brown sugar, they hear us in our struggles, however small.
Wait! They can actually hear us? How is this even possible?
You see, our departed loved ones no longer use their physical ears to hear us, but that doesn’t mean they can’t still hear our thoughts. The departed absolutely can hear our thoughts through the phenomenon of thought perception. The ability to perceive thoughts is a part of our spiritual nature. In other words… this type of perception is natural for us, being spiritual beings at our core.
Thought perception is so prevalent that we use it without even realizing it. As we are used to dwelling in a physical body, we have become accustomed to thinking that our thoughts are private, because we think they are literally located only in our heads. And while we might assume this is true to some extent, because we think it, on another level, our thoughts are spiritual. And… how can you contain the stuff that thoughts are made of?
We’ve all had a thought about someone, only to unexpectedly get their phone call or run into them. Or we know what someone was going to say before they say it. There are many examples. Too often though, we add these events up in the coincidence column… because we don’t really understand just how connected we always are.
Thought perception falls in the category of mental telepathy or thought reception/transmission that occurs between the living and the living. But it also occurs between the departed and the living. Ken only found out that Jon was perceiving his thoughts because of the “strange goings on” with the empty brown sugar bag that mysteriously appeared as an answer to his question.
Obviously, Jon wanted Ken to know he was there, since the “fluttering bird” description of the bag falling out of the cabinet, was just odd enough to not be something of a supernatural occurrence. And remember… Ken did say that he recently felt Jon around him during that time. This feeling of Jon being around during that time, did serve as an additional validation that the prankster was indeed, Jon.
Assuring Ken of his continued sense of humor, as well as his presence, Jon answered Ken’s question about whether the bag of brown sugar had been used, or was somewhere, other than where he was already looking, by presenting the empty bag after he was making a different batch of cookies that did not require brown sugar.
Our thoughts are here, there and even… everywhere. We are connected more than we realize.
Lovely experience and description of thought perception. Thank you Ken and Jade for sharing
Thanks Jade…So interesting to think about all the ways we are connected beyond our physical bodies and even the words we share out loud. And thanks Ken for sharing.
Lovely experience, and so very special. I love little moments like these.
Thanks for sharing.
